Hello! It seems as if every time I refresh my Instagram feed, I see yet another photo of a style guru in a laced up blouse or pair of laced up booties. And I absolutely love it. This season, clothing and shoes that lace up the front are taking the fashion industry by storm. Like other fall trends (such as bell sleeves and flare pants), this trend originates in the 70s. And like the other 70s fall trends, I'm falling hard for this style. In particular, I'm loving booties and blouses that lace up the front. However, I've noticed a few particularly rad laced up, suede skirts. Swoon!
Ever since I noticed this trend a few weeks ago, I've been dreaming of adding the trend to my wardrobe. When Nasty Gal sent me an email about their shoe sale last week, I kind of dismissed it because I figured I couldn't afford any of the shoes at the moment- even if they were on sale. However, I thought it couldn't hurt to look and started to browse through their selection of shoes on sale.
A few moments later, I spotted the thigh-high boots featured in the photo above. Originally, these babes retailed for $120 but were on sale for about $40 with shipping. And that's a deal that I can certainly afford! The shoes were still available in my size and I took that as a sign that I needed them in my life and added them to my shopping cart. They're now sold out and I'm so glad that I scooped them up when I did. The lace pattern, thigh-high style and trendy laced up front make them a refreshing update to my wardrobe.
I slipped them on as soon as I received them in the mail and am as much in love with them in person as online. The contrast between the sex appeal and boho vibe of the shoes is what really attracts me to them. I can't wait to see how many different ways I can style these boots this fall.
What do you guys think of the laced up trend? Are you going to try it out?
