Red, Hot & Blue

Hello! When Richmond fashion blogger, Olivia Ruffin, announced that she was clearing out her closet a few weeks ago, I was instantly curious. Olivia serves as a major source of style inspiration for myself and many others; her unique sense of style is quite refreshing amongst a sea of bloggers who essentially wear the same outfits. There's something to be said for originality in the fashion industry and specifically in the blogging sphere. Saying that the fashion blogging market is oversaturated would be an understatement and truly, a lot of those said fashion bloggers are just wearing the same trendy styles as everyone else. And where's the creativity or fun in that? I proudly march to the beat of my own drum when it comes to personal style and I love seeing bloggers like Olivia breaking away from those fashion standards and norms as well.

I managed to snag this cool American flag bodysuit from Olivia's wardrobe for just $4. What a deal! I love its distinct American style and cool girl vibes. I wanted to play up its patriotic red, white and blue hues for this look so I styled it with a preppy vintage white cardigan with matching red and blue detailing. I threw a little black circle skirt and silly vintage heels on with the bodysuit and sweater.

I accessorized with a couple chic pairs of sunglasses, a vintage purse and my rhinestone "SEXY" choker necklace. Rhinestone adorned lash lines and bold red lipstick pulled the look together. All in all, the look felt very "seventies house wife off to tennis / to gossip with the gals" in the best possible way.

Hello! I recently discovered the jumpsuit of my dreams while shopping at Ashby in Carytown. Its dramatic design immediately piqued my attention when I spotted it hanging on the rack. A full-length cream-colored jumpsuit that's so form-fitting that I have to abandon the notion of wearing any underthings? Talk about a major fashion statement! Its flare legs and pretty open back detailing also drew me in. And for just about $25, I made it mine. I've been dreaming up about a million different ways to style it since purchasing it and you can expect to see a lot more of it on my blog.

For this look, I styled it with a nautical navy neck scarf, denim platform heels and a statement silver purse. I enhanced the chic appeal of this look with pretty golden accessories including the most gorgeous watch and stylish golden shades. A swipe of red lipstick pulled the look together.

Parisian Daydream

Hello! I scored this beautiful vintage fur beret at a yard sale last fall for about $5. An authentic vintage fur hat from the forties for just $5? Talk about a major steal! I initially purchased it for my Etsy shop, RaddayVintage, but ended up keeping it as part of my personal wardrobe. I love the chic touch of Parisian flair that it adds to any outfit.

I wanted to emphasize the sophisticated French charm of the beret for this look so I styled it with a pretty wine-colored dress and dreamy cream-colored jacket. Pretty golden accessories, a stylish watch and designer sunglasses perfected the look.

Strutting into Fall

Hello! Meet one of my favorite additions to my fall '17 wardrobe: this breezy floral dress. I recently scooped it up at Ashby for less than $25. Its rich autumnal colors, retro floral print and breezy silhouette instantly drew me to it. It practically screams "fall." You can expect to see a lot more of this dress on the blog from here on out.

I emphasized the autumnal appeal of the dress in this look with accessories in rich fall hues. I slipped on a burgundy pair of velvet booties and grabbed a tan paisley clutch. Simple golden accessories and chic sunglasses perfected the look.

All Black

Hello! If there's one thing that I know about fashion, it would be that you really can't go wrong with an all-black outfit of the day. For this look, I kept that idea in mind and pulled out a couple of my favorite pieces of black clothing from my wardrobe. I started styling the look around this embroidered black top. I love its playful silhouette, polka dot mesh texture and pretty floral embroidery. I paired it with a little black circle skirt that mimicked its playful, breezy silhouette.

I added a punch of color to the look with a pair of burnt orange lace-up heels. Simple accessories contributed to the style of the look; I grabbed a chic pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses, black hoop earrings, a golden vintage watch and a green vintage clutch.

Head to Toe Vintage

Hello! I recently thrifted this beautiful pink dress and couldn't be any happier about it. I think I'd even go so far as to say that it's my favorite item that I've thrifted all year. I spotted it a few weeks ago at a Goodwill here in Richmond and its pretty, light pink color initially drew me in. When I picked it up off the rack, its true vintage 1970s style and sheer pink sleeves also captured my attention. It's much harder to thrift authentic vintage from the 1970s and to find a dress from the 70s as beautiful as this one truly feels like striking gold. And for less than $10? I internally let out a huge "YAS" at the thrift shop.

I played up its retro flair for this look by styling it in a head-to-toe vintage ensemble. A mod pair of orange creamsicle earrings, aviator glasses and an obnoxious pink velvet scrunchie all enhanced the vintage style of the dress. A pretty pink vintage purse and silly vintage heels pulled the look together.

It's a Jungle Out There

Hello! I recently spotted this LBD at a local RVA thrift shop and quickly fell in love with it. Let me just tell you, this little black dress is not your average little black dress. Its subtle zebra print design and obnoxious feather boa trim make it a little black dress unlike any other that I've ever owned. I'm a huge fan of feather boa trim so this dress felt like quite the thrift score.

For this look, I styled it with my latest Jeffrey Campbell purchase: these swoon-worthy burgundy platform boots. I've been practically wearing them on repeat since adding them to my wardrobe a few weeks ago. I mean c'mon though, could they be any more perfect? Their ridiculous five inch heel height, rich wine-color and luxe velvet texture defines them as the shoes of my dreams.

I kept accessories relatively minimal to let my dress and shoes take center stage. I slipped a faux fur leopard print scrunchie on my wrist, grabbed a trendy pair of pink shades and a silver bag and called it a look.

Sunday Brunch Looks

Hello! My friend, Taisha, recently visited me in Richmond and of course, grabbing Sunday brunch together was a must while she was in town. We managed to squeeze in a shoot to capture our looks with my favorite photographer, Rachel Dwyer, before heading off to brunch.

I decided to play it a little risqué with my look and pulled out a vintage leopard print teddy to style my look around. I threw on a little black circle skirt over it and slipped into a pair of black booties to subtly tone down the sex appeal of the leopard print lingerie.

I felt as though the look was missing something so I decided to add just a touch of color with a teal pair of pompom earrings and matching cat-eye shades. My rhinestone "SEXY" choker necklace gave the look the perfect hint of dramatic flair.

Taisha stuck to a similar color palette for her look, choosing to don a sheer black dress over a black bralette and denim mini.

Seventies Street Style

Hello! I'm forever inspired by the seventies when styling looks so it's no surprise that I was instantly drawn to this free-spirited dress when I spotted it on eShakti's website. Its colorful floral embroidery and breezy sleeves definitely mimic the fashions that reigned supreme almost fifty years ago. Its retro influence paired with its flattering silhouette and versatile navy blue color make it quite the beauty.

I played up the vintage flair of the dress for this look by styling it with a platform pair of denim heels, a pretty green vintage purse and seventies-esque shades. A cheery pair of yellow pompom earrings added a touch of fun to the look.
