Black and White

Some things just look better in black and white; I'm actually wearing a teal cardigan, black maxi skirt and gray textured top. Currently it is exam week at my high school. This event usually triggers a flood of sweatpants and yoga pants in the halls. I chose to stand out by matching my elegant black pleated maxi skirt with one of my favorite tops. My casual bun and oxford flats kept the look from being too formal. Anyways, I need to go back to hitting the books!

Minimalistic

Hi! The frigid weather decided my minimalistic outfit for me today. The temperatures dropped to the 20's. I cozied up in a large, knit sweater. To keep it from looking frumpy, I wore a flattering a-line skirt and sleek sweater tights. This wintery look was accompanied by a layered chain necklace and my favorite shoes- gray oxford flats.

Tribal Love

I am in love with tribal and ethnic fashion for this upcoming spring. I adore the brights colors and prints. Very bohemian chic. Is anyone else falling head over heels for this trend?

Weekend Recap

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! I hope you all are enjoying your three day weekend. On Saturday, my family celebrated my dad's birthday by going out to Noodles & Company- a delectable restaurant that as you may assume serves noodles. It's one of my favorite places to dine. We also went out to dessert and Dave & Busters- a high-end arcade. Then we ventured out in the cold to my lake house. I was able to drive back, earning myself hours of driving practice needed for me to get my license. I yearn for my license but sadly won't receive it until April. If only I had taken the learner's permit test sooner!

The More, the Merrier!

Hi! I hope that you all are enjoying your week. Today I wore one of my favorite items in my wardrobe- my vintage leopard print maxi skirt. I paired it with a pretty, embellished top that I thrifted last weekend, oxford flats and a boat load of rings. When is comes to rings- the more, the merrier!

Style Icons

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are two of my favorite style icons. Their names alone conjure up images of effortless bohemian chic. I love the way that they put seemingly incompatible pieces together and nail the look. Maxi skirts, feathers, sequins, stilettos, colored hair, distressed clothing...what's not to love?

Turban Headband

Hi! Today I wore a look that my mom described as 1920's-hippie-boho. Last night, I whipped up this fabulous turban headband. Earlier this year, I saw the most precious turban headbands here on etsy and was just dying for one of my own. The $30 price tag was a little too steep for my budget though so I decided to make one myself. Mine cost me no money at all! You can check out a great tutorial here. Also, Abbi from True Blue Abbi is having a giveaway for a cool book here.

Neutrals

Hi! My minimalistic look today was inspired by this shirt. This button down actually used to belong to my dad but now resides in my closet. To add a feminine touch to the outfit, I wore my vintage paper bag DKNY skirt. I completed the minimalistic, feminine meets masculine look with a few statement rings, gray sweater tights, oxford flats, and a long silver necklace.
