A Very Seventies Christmas

Hello! Merry Christmas! Belinda Farmer, a local Richmond photographer, and I recently teamed up for a holiday-themed photoshoot in my dreamy seventies home. I love the way that the free-spirited, retro decor of my home complements my vintage-fueled style choices. I styled two different looks for my shoot with Belinda: one with this pretty little red dress and another with a black vintage slip dress. Above are a few of my favorite photos from the shoot; stay tuned to see more photos on my Instagram @toriradday.

I styled the red dress with a pair of platform golden boots and a vintage neck scarf. Red lipstick and vintage Chanel earrings perfected the look. I paired the little black slip dress with a black fringe sweater and a pair of green velvet thigh-high boots. Celestial earrings completed the look.

All Wrapped Up

Hello! Shein recently sent me this chic gray wrap top to incorporate into my winter wardrobe and I've been dreaming up about a million different ways to style it. Okay, maybe not quite a million but you get my point. This is Shein's "Surplice Wrap Heathered Knit Top" and it retails for $13 here. The versatile style of the tops allows for an infinite number of outfit combinations and possibilities.

I paired the top with an effortlessly stylish maxi skirt for this boho chic look. The silky texture of the skirt dressed up the top the perfect amount. I accessorized with a vintage navy blue purse, classic golden jewelry and statement Givenchy sunglasses. A pair of patchwork booties completed the look.

Hello! The Nebula Shop recently sent me this dreamy seventies gown to incorporate into my wardrobe and I'm so glad that they did. I love everything about this dress; its metallic texture, sexy thigh-high slit, retro one-shoulder silhouette and unique color have all captured my heart. It screams "seventies glam" in the absolute best way possible.

I knew that I wanted to highlight the glamour of the dress so I teamed up with local Richmond photographer, Rachel Dwyer, for a holiday photoshoot by the Quirk Hotel in Richmond. I accentuated the glamour of the dress with a golden vintage purse, a shaggy cream-colored sweater and statement golden earrings. A feminine pair of cat-eye shades, peach lipstick, my "Tori" necklace and nude platform heels perfected the look. I love how the pretty in pink holiday decor of the Quirk Hotel complemented the look.

Hello! The look photographed above is the third look I styled in a recent photoshoot collaboration with Urban Outfitters Virginia and Rachel Dwyer Photography. You can read all about the collab in my initial blog post here

I'm not usually a fan of pants but these striped black and white pants instantly drew me in when I spotted them at Urban Outfitters. They're like the ultimate "cool girl" pants. I paired the pants with another surprising choice for me: a cropped sweater. A cropped top?? On me?? I hardly ever reach for crop tops but this one spoke to me when I discovered it at Urban Outfitters. I mean c'mon, its lilac color, super cozy texture and bell sleeves are beyond gorgeous.

I cozied up the look with a super soft gray blanket scarf- yet another piece I borrowed from Urban Outfitters for this look. An eye-catching rhinestone purse added a touch of holiday sparkle to the look. A pair of mod heeled booties, aviator glasses and silver octagonal hoop earrings perfected the look.

Hello! I recently had the opportunity to collaborate with Urban Outfitters Virginia on styling a few looks for a winter fashion shoot with one of my favorite Richmond photographers, Rachel Dwyer. You can read more details about our collaboration here. We wanted to shoot at least one holiday look for the collaboration and the festive red hue and shimmering finish of this Urban Outfitters holiday dress spoke to me right away. I slipped it on in the dressing room and instantly fell in love; it would be perfect for a holiday party or even a New Year's Eve celebration.

I accentuated the glamour of the dress with a faux fur leopard print coat, chic cat-eye sunglasses and an eye-catching shade of red lipstick. I also slipped into a trendy pair of fishnet stockings and classic black heeled booties. I kept jewelry simple and incorporated the cutest kitty cat coin purse from Urban Outfitters into a couple photos.

Hello! Urban Outfitters Virginia recently reached out to myself and my favorite photographer, Rachel Dwyer, regarding a collaboration and I immediately jumped on board. Vanna Dalton, the store brand leader of Urban Outfitter's Richmond location, suggested working together on a holiday-inspired winter photoshoot. A couple of weeks ago, Rachel and I popped on over to Urban Outfitters to meet Vanna and get the ball rolling on the collaboration. As I looked around the store, a plethora of dresses and sweaters caught my attention. I picked out several of my favorite pieces from their winter collection to style for the shoot. I wanted to blend Urban Outfitter's products with my style aesthetic in a unique, interesting way. We shot three different looks and it's tempting to call the look above my favorite look of the day.

This beautiful green dress instantly caught my eye when I spotted it hanging in Urban Outfitters. I mean, do you see its rich color, luxurious texture and unique oriental-inspired print? Hello, gorgeous! I can definitely see myself rocking it as an everyday dress but I think it's intended to be a little bit more of a special occasion holiday dress. I played up the hints of yellow and gold in the print of the dress with a pair of golden boots, chic golden accessories and yellow shades. A burnt orange purse adorned with one of my favorite seventies scarves and a super cozy burnt orange cardigan also contributed to the color aesthetic of the look.

Stayed tuned to see the other two looks from the collab!

Fashion, Trends & More x The Nebula Shop

Hello! I recently teamed up with Allison Strang to represent her Etsy shop, The Nebula Shop. The Nebula Shop carries the prettiest vintage clothing and accessories. Take a look for yourself here and discover vintage gem after vintage gem. She sent over two swoon-worthy vintage pieces from her shop and I've been eager to share photos of them both with y'all. The first item that The Nebula Shop sent over was this unique textured seventies tent dress. I love its rich colors, textural intrigue and interesting silhouette. Stay tuned to see the other gorgeous vintage beauty that The Nebula Shop sent my way!

I wanted to play up the groovy seventies print of the dress so I layered a vintage patchwork fur coat over the dress. I love the way that the patterns and textures of the two pieces interact for an entirely unique aesthetic. Heeled mod booties and French chic cat-eye shades further emphasized the vintage style of the look. Simple, stylish golden accessories perfected the look.

I usually go for more colorful looks but I'm really digging the collection of neutrals in this look. It feels very sophisticated yet at the same time, still very true to my personal style. I'd suggest "Day Dreams in Paris, 1974" as an alternative title for this post.

Peachy Keen Seventies Queen

Hello! You know how most people consider a little black dress a crucial wardrobe essential? Well, I'd also consider a little pink dress a crucial wardrobe essential- at least in my own wardrobe. I recently counted and discovered that I own the same number of pink dresses as I do of black dresses. I pulled one of my favorite little pink dresses out for this look: this dreamy, pale pink tiered beauty.  I love its flattering neckline, feminine color and boho silhouette.

I styled the dress with a chic cream-colored vintage jacket for this look. My great grandmother made this coat for my grandmother and I'd definitely consider it one of my most cherished pieces in my wardrobe. I highlighted the golden color of the jacket's buttons with my pair of golden platform boots. I played up the retro vibes of the look with a gorgeous golden vintage purse, a couple vintage Chanel button accessories and peach-colored cat-eye sunglasses. I added a touch of trendy style to the look with white fishnet stockings. A swipe of peach lipstick and a vintage seventies neck scarf perfected the look.

Hello! Shein recently sent me this free-spirited shirt to feature on my blog and I love its sheer texture, embroidered details and boho colors. This is Shein's "Embroidered Mesh Babydoll Blouse" and it retails for $18 here. I wanted to combine the bohemian style of the top with my signature seventies flair for a super laid back, vintage-inspired boho look. I paired the top with a rad pair of floral bellbottoms to do just that. Because what says "seventies boho" better than a pair of free-flowing bellbottoms? I also love how the combination of prints adds visual intrigue to the look.

I made the look feel even more "Free People" with a shaggy, cream-colored sweater and statement platform heels. I accessorized with a pink pair of pompom earrings, yellow aviator shades and a handful of bohemian rings. A chic green purse and pink velvet scrunchie perfected the look.
