Terence & I

 photo IMG_9258_zpsmxgqogyz.jpg
 photo IMG_9255_zpszua508vr.jpg

Hello! Yesterday, I posed for a few quick photos with one of my friends, Terence, after our StyleLine meeting. Terence studies interior design and you can sense his creativity in his work, his personality and his style; whenever I see Terence, he is always well-dressed. His put-together style incorporates structured pieces and the latest trends. In this look, his multi-textured jacket and bold sneakers grabbed my attention. You can follow him on Instagram @its_terencee

For a day filled with classes and meetings, I stuck to an all-black outfit. All-black outfits are the easiest type of outfits and probably my favorites too. Never do I feel any better about my look than when I'm wearing all-black. I started this look with a pair of black, high-rise denim and styled a black long-sleeve top with it. To keep it from being too plain, I slipped on a black fringe kimono over the top. The kimono gives the look a bohemian, free-spirited feeling. I also styled a pair of black socks and black heeled booties with the look. I accessorized with a color-blocked bag and a couple of golden necklaces. I threw on a cream-colored, faux fur jacket with the outfit to add a luxurious feeling to the look. Bold red lipstick completed the look.

Hello! This photo is from a couple days ago when I posed with one of my friends, Taisha, for a quick photo. Like myself, Taisha is a fashion merchandising major. I love her bold, unique style. The layering and color combination in her outfit above are just two examples of how well Taisha dresses. To see more of Taisha's style, be sure to follow her on Instagram @tmoniquee_

For my look, I layered my burgundy sweater with a black circle skirt and black fleece-lined leggings. Quirky socks emphasized the color of the sweater. I threw on my faux fur leopard coat to make a statement. A couple golden necklaces, peach tote bag and black booties completed the look.

All The Above Clothing

 photo IMG_9149_zps1zvohslz.jpg

Hello! Have you guys heard of All The Above Clothing Company (ATA Clothing)? Keeping a socially conscious mission in mind, ATA Clothing provides fashion-forward apparel to both men and women. They aim to provide unique designs while creating awareness for programs and non-profits in need. ATA Clothing accomplishes this by allowing customers to select the organization or cause that they support the most upon checking out and then ATA donates 10% of the proceeds from that purchase to the cause. I love discovering new ethically and socially conscious brands and am happy to have found and formed a collaboration with ATA Clothing. They recently sent me the top in the photo above to showcase on my blog.

This is their "Stars" top and it retails for $36.99 HERE. I'm very pleased with the quality and style of this top; I love the open-back, basic shape, soft feel and stylish star print of this top. This top was inspired by Martin Luther King Jr. and the words "light always shines the brightest in the darkness" are printed on the back of this top. The quote as well as the star print of the top express the inspiration gathered from Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and success. If you are looking for fashion with a more socially conscious mission and more thoughtful inspiration behind it, I would definitely recommend browsing through All The Above Clothing Company

For this look, I layered a black fringe kimono and cream-colored, faux fur coat with the top. I wanted to let the top and especially the star print of the top shine in the look so I kept the rest of my look simple and paired a basic black skirt and black fleece-lined tights with the top. To emphasize the gold in the star print, I slipped on a couple golden statement necklaces and a bold pair of golden glitter combat boots. Red lipstick added the finishing touch to the look.

Carlyn Spike Collar Necklace

 photo IMG_1372_zpsbkukcieg.jpeg
 photo IMG_8871_zpsgtghbahf.jpeg

Hello! While going through my wardrobe a few days ago, I discovered this dress hidden under a sweater; I had completely forgotten about this dress and was happy to see it again. Although the short babydoll fit and lightweight material of this dress make it more of a summer dress, I knew I wanted to wear it again soon.

Of course, layering was key to making this dress appropriate to be worn in this chilly weather. I started off by layering a pair of thick leggings underneath the dress. I then styled my black fringe kimono over the dress. I will admit that this fringe kimono doesn't provide much warmth but I love the movement that the fringe creates and love how the kimono looks paired with various coats. My leopard print coat is really what kept me warm.

To emphasize the color of the dress, I slipped a pair of blue crew socks over the leggings. I then styled my neutral, tan Doc Martens with the socks and let just a little bit of the blue socks peek out over the top of the boots.

Accessories played a key role in this look. I started off with several golden rings- a two-finger spiked ring, a stone ring and another statement ring. Additionally, I donned my new spiked necklace with this look.

Lily Wang recently sent me this necklace courtesy of ShopLately. This is the "Carlyn Spike Collar Necklace." I'm very pleased with this necklace- the rich gold color, edgy spikes and lightweight metal make this necklace a must-have. Even better yet, it's currently on sale for just $4- yes only $4!

And if you sign up with ShopLately through Facebook HERE, you will instantly earn a $10 credit to use on purchases of $15 or more. Which means that you could receive this necklace and not even pay a cent for it- now that's a good deal! Additionally, be sure to check out their Insider Program for $9/year in which you receive free shipping on all products.

Fur Trimmed Coat

 photo IMG_9091_zpsipskpdbo.jpg

Hello! This photo was taken yesterday when I went into Manayunk with a few of my best friends. Although it was a dreary day, we decided to venture into Manayunk to walk around a little, shop and grab a hot drink.

I styled my look around this burgundy, paisley dress. The bohemian print, breezy style and rich color of this dress make it one of my favorite dresses in my wardrobe. I layered it with a black cardigan and vintage fur-trimmed coat. I slipped into a pair of fleece-lined tights to keep warm and paired vintage oxford flats with the outfit. I accessorized with a black leather bag and a couple golden statement necklaces. Berry lipstick and oversize glasses completed the look.

 photo IMG_8978_zpszuwq89sq.jpg

Hello! These photos were taken of one of my outfits earlier this week. Although you can't tell from these photos, it was actually snowing that day so my outfit relied heavily on layering in order to stay warm.

My look revolved around this tan and black striped dress. I haven't worn this dress in a while so I decided that it was time to pull this dress back out of my wardrobe. The neutral colors, classic print and simple silhouette make this a piece that I'm glad to have in my wardrobe. I layered a long black cardigan and black crochet duster vest over the dress. I added a boho-luxe feeling to the look with my cream-colored, faux fur coat. I don't think I've ever loved a coat as much as I love this one and I have to continually resist the urge to wear it everyday.

To keep my legs warm, I slipped on a pair of black opaque tights. I added a pop of color to the look with my cherry-colored Doc Martens. Several golden necklaces and my oversize glasses completed the look.

Lily Wang

 photo IMG_8947_zpsd4f04494.jpg
 photo IMG_8950_zpsab571250.jpg

Hello! These photos were taken this past Monday when a couple of my friends and I went into the city. I posed for a photo with one of my best friends, Bri. Like myself, Bri studies fashion merchandising at PhilaU. She and I met last year and have been great friends ever since we quickly bonded over our love of fashion. Bri is also one of my best dressed friends; her put-together style incorporates a variety of structured and classic pieces. In the photo above, her winter coat and trendy pants perfectly illustrate her style. You can check out more of her style out on her Instagram @the_blonde_0ne.

For my look, I pulled my blue-gray faux fur jacket out of my wardrobe for a bold, luxe statement. I juxtaposed the rich, glam jacket with a casual, vintage, hippie printed tank top. The contrast between the two pieces creates a unique appeal. I also layered a black fringe kimono with the look against a black circle skirt and pair of black tights to create length and movement in the look. Additionally, the fringe further enhances the quirky, free-spirited feeling of the outfit.

To emphasize the burgundy in the print of the tank top, I styled a vintage burgundy bag with the look. I added the final touch to the look with a silver statement necklace. ShopLately recently sent me this necklace to showcase on my blog. In my last blog post, I elaborated upon ShopLately but for those of you who didn't read the post or don't know about ShopLately, ShopLately is an online marketplace where countless shops and designers sell their jewelry, clothing, accessories, beauty products and shoes. Besides the necklace that I'm wearing in this look, the kimono I'm wearing is also from ShopLately.

This necklace is the "Holly Multi Strand Coin Necklace in Vintage Silver" necklace sold by Lily Wang. The shorter length and bohemian charm instantly drew me to this necklace and make it the perfect statement piece. I'm very pleased with this necklace- the quality is good and the necklace is very lightweight. Right now, you can snatch up this necklace for a mere $6 + free shipping! And who could say no to that?

I would definitely recommend checking this piece out as well as checking out ShopLately in general. If you sign up HERE on ShopLately using your facebook account, you will automatically receive a $10 credit to use on your first purchase of $15 or more. Additionally, if you sign up with ShopLately, I would recommend joining their Insider Program. With their Insider Program, you receive free shipping on all products for just $9/year.

Even better yet- ShopLately is having a huge blowout sale event today. Be sure to check it out HERE.

ShopLately

 photo IMG_8793_zps64ce1818.jpg
 photo IMG_8792_zps07965c7b.jpg

Hello! Recently, I re-joined ShopLately's blogger program and they credited my account so I could purchase a few items to review on my blog. In these photos, I'm showing off my latest piece from ShopLately- the middle stone necklace.

For those of you who have never heard of ShopLately, they are an online marketplace where shops can sell their jewelry, clothing and other accessories. They have an incredible number of designers and brands and such an unbelievably large assortment of jewelry, clothing, shoes, beauty products & accessories. ShopLately is THE first place anyone should browse if looking for a specific style of jewelry; they have a very wide range of numerous styles of necklaces, bracelets, earrings, etc. in styles ranging from trendy to bohemian to minimalist and so on and so on. Additionally, most of the items on ShopLately are priced very affordably. Many of my favorite pieces of jewelry (primarily necklaces) are from ShopLately and are constantly being worn.

I've recently been looking for another bohemian, free-spirited necklace to add to my wardrobe so I almost immediately placed this necklace in my shopping cart when I spotted it on ShopLately. This is the "Arctic Dweller Stone Necklace" from Cob & Pen and it retails for $16.50 + free shipping on ShopLately. It consists of three pretty green stones speckled with gold on a simple gold chain. This necklace also comes in blue and red.

When I saw my package from Cob & Pen in the mail, my day instantly was made as I was extremely happy to be receiving the necklace. And it did not disappoint. The necklace is even more stunning in person and very good quality. I can already tell that this necklace is going to be worn quite a bit in the near future.

If you aren't a member of ShopLately already, I would certainly recommend signing up and browsing their selection of clothing, jewelry & accessories. If you sign up on ShopLately HERE using your Facebook account, you will instantly earn a $10 credit to be used on purchases of $15 or more. By doing that, you could then purchase the same necklace that I did for just $6.50- now that's a good deal! Additionally, I would suggest signing up for ShopLately's Insider Program in order to receive free shipping on all of your items for just $9/year HERE

ShopLately holds New Arrival events every Monday and Wednesday. Which means that a new arrivals event is happening today! You can check it out here

For this look, I decided to layer my necklace with another stone necklace and then a shorter golden necklace. I love the way that the three necklaces look together. A couple stone rings and simple golden ring were also paired with the look.

Again, it was pretty cold outside so my look relied heavily on layering. I started the look with a simple teal dress and layered a plaid shirtdress over it and left it unbuttoned. Over that, I layered a black and white flannel shirtdress, also left unbuttoned. I find the contrast between the blue and green plaid print of the first shirtdress and the black and white checked print of the second shirtdress to be very aesthetically pleasing.

For added warmth, I threw on a pair of black opaque tights and a black vintage coat. Black heeled booties and berry lipstick completed the look.

Bundled Up

 photo IMG_8747_zps453d5cf7.jpg
 photo IMG_8749_zps97d31c11.jpg

Hello! These photos were taken a few days ago. And let me just say, I was in no way prepared to face the cold, windy weather in Philadelphia. While in Richmond over winter break, the weather was very mild and it didn't even get cold enough to receive a sprinkling of snow.

That is not the case here in Philadelphia. It's freezing and quite windy outside and I am immediately taken aback by the cold weather the second that I step outside. I definitely took the moderate winter weather in Richmond for granted and am desperately wishing and hoping that the weather here does not get any colder. Now, enough of my complaining about the weather and more about the outfit:

To face the cold weather, I bundled up in several cozy layers. I started this look with a unique printed dress. I threw on a burnt orange cardigan over the dress and layered a cream-colored faux fur jacket over that.

Over top of the jacket, I slipped on a vintage vest. This suede, orange vest from the seventies has me swooning. In particular, I adore the suede and knit texture of the vest as well as the distinct hippie vibe that the vest emits.

I also layered a neutral knit scarf with the look. The layering of different textures against my printed dress in this look portrays a very free-spirited, bohemian image that I'm absolutely in love with. To play up the boho-hippie look even further, I paired several golden necklaces with the look. Recently, I cannot stop obsessing over how much I love wearing multiple necklaces together. It creates a distinct stylish look that I cannot get enough of.

It was freezing cold out so I slipped a pair of fleece lined leggings underneath the dress followed by a pair of black Doc Martens. Red lipstick added the final touch to the look.

Mixed Patterns & Textures

 photo IMG_8459_zps9981ae2f.jpg
 photo IMG_8456_zpsa3021ca1.jpg

Hello! These photos were taken a couple weeks ago while I was still in Richmond. My look focused on mixing patterns and textures- faux fur, flannel, plaid and a kitty cat pattern all dominated the outfit.

I styled this look around my black and white kitty cat print dress. The quirky pattern, classic colors and flattering shape of this dress have made this dress a key component of my wardrobe for the past year and a half. I still haven't grown tired of the dress and thinking about it, I don't think that I'll ever stop loving this dress. I've worn this dress too many times to count yet each time I've worn it, I've found a new way to style it.

For this look, I layered a light blue plaid, flannel shirtdress over the kitty cat dress. I left the dress unbuttoned to show off both the cat print of the dress and the plaid print. I received this dress for Christmas and can't get over how much I love the cozy fabric and classic style. It works wonderfully as a layering piece in my wardrobe (like how I wore it above) but it also works well worn as a shirtdress.

I layered a cream-colored faux fur jacket over the dresses for added warmth. I slipped into a pair of fleece-lined tights and vintage loafers. I accessorized with a golden druzy necklace and simple golden rhinestone necklace.

Floral & Layering

 photo IMG_4668_zps26394631.jpeg

Hello! This photo was taken while I was in Richmond last week. It was one of the colder days in Richmond and my look revolved around lots of layering.

I started my look with a faded floral, baby doll dress. I purchased this vintage dress from a thrift shop for less than $10 a few weeks ago and am very pleased with the purchase. The baby doll fit and daisy print of the dress scream nineties. The dress is a couple inches longer than I would like however so I plan on hemming it a little bit.

I highlighted the orange color in the daisy print of the dress with a long burnt orange cardigan and a pair of orange thigh highs. I layered a creamy faux fur jacket over the dress and threw on a knit scarf over that. My black booties finished the look.

Watercolor Floral Shorts

 photo IMG_5214_zpsdc41f610.jpeg

Hello! This photo was taken a couple weeks ago while I was still in Richmond. Who says that you can’t wear shorts in the winter? For this look, I pulled out a pair of watercolor floral shorts from my wardrobe. I purchased these from Urban Outfitters on sale a few weeks ago and have been in love with them ever since. The effortlessly stylish fit, delicate lace trim and romantic watercolor floral print of the shorts make them absolutely irresistible.

I accentuated the colors in the print of the shorts with a knit burgundy sweater. This sweater has been my go-to sweater for the past few months and I especially love it with these shorts. This sweater is definitely very oversize so to prevent it from completely swallowing up the shorts, I carefully tucked the front of the sweater into the shorts.

To make wearing the shorts bearable in the cold weather, I slipped on a pair of black fleece lined leggings underneath of the shorts. I pulled on a pair of neutral-colored, suede Doc Martens with the look.

I accessorized with a couple golden necklaces. A swipe of dark lipstick and oversize glasses perfected the look.

Winter Blossoms

 photo IMG_8512_zps7e7ed87f.jpg

Hello! This photo was taken while I was in Richmond last week.

My look was styled around this vibrant floral print dress. The various bright shades of blue and breezy fit of this dress immediately captured my heart. I received this dress as a gift for Christmas and although, it’s not necessarily a winter dress (in fact, it’s most definitely a summer dress), I couldn't just let it hang in my wardrobe. For this look, I threw on a light blue faux fur jacket with the dress. The way that the light blue-gray color of the jacket accentuates the colors in the dress makes the combination very aesthetically pleasing.

I turned to a pair of black thigh high socks for warmth for my legs. I kept the black line of the socks by pairing black booties with them. Several golden necklaces and berry lipstick completed the look.

Goodbye Richmond

 photo IMG_8665_zpsfc2f3f44.jpg
 photo IMG_8668_zpsd15c13c3.jpg

Hello! These photos were taken of my outfit yesterday. Yesterday was my last day in Richmond and since Richmond has such incredible street art and murals, I decided to seize the opportunity to take a few cool photos by a quirky wall in Richmond.

I styled this look around a pair of vibrant, daisy print Doc Martens. I received these Doc Martens for Christmas and instantly fell in love with them the second that I pulled them out of their box. Bold shades of orange and pink in a retro floral print make these shoes impossible to ignore and ridiculously easy to fall in love with them. They emit a mod, sixties vibe that exudes good vibes, peace and happiness. To me, these boots are almost more than just a pair of boots but rather also a work of art. They will definitely be harder to style than my other Doc Martens but have already made a place in my heart as well as my wardrobe.

To give these boots the attention that they deserve, I kept the rest of my outfit relatively plain. I styled the boots with a pair of black denim and a neutral gray sweater. To emphasize the bright colors in the boots, I swiped on a deep berry lipstick.

Skirt the Issue

 photo IMG_3420_zpsf37f8cf8.jpeg

Hello! This photo is from a few days ago. I styled my look around this black & white checked top from Lulu's. This top is the ideal layering piece; the top is the length of a dress but has long slits up the side. It could easily be worn as a dress with a pair of leggings underneath or tied up to be worn more as a top.

For this look, I tied the dress up and wore it as more of a top. I styled it with a black skirt courtesy of Skirt the Issue. As I've previously mentioned, I'm a social media & PR intern for Skirt the Issue and couldn't love the company any more than I already do.

Skirt the Issue sells versatile, body-con mini-skirts that can be worn in a variety of different ways. I like to layer my skirt with different tops and sweaters like I did for this look but they are also great for throwing over what you're wearing to the gym or slipping on over a pair of leggings for a cozier look.

The skirts come in numerous different prints and colors and retail for $30. Since receiving my skirt a couple months ago, I would definitely say that it has become a key component of my wardrobe and I would definitely recommend picking one up for yourself online HERE

I added a pop of color to the look with a bold pair of orange thigh highs. Black booties finished off the look.

Cozy Layering

 photo IMG_7830_zps3e446979.jpg
 photo IMG_7828_zps39be7cee.jpg

Hello! This look is from a couple weeks ago. I started the look with a cream-colored sunflower print dress. This is a very summery dress and originally I debated about bringing it home for winter break with me but boy, am I glad that I did! It barely took up any room in my suitcase and I've worn it many times since I've been home. With the right layering, this dress can easily be transitioned from summer to winter.

For this look, I layered a breezy burgundy sweater over it so that just the bottom of the dress is peeking out from under the sweater. I tied the colors of the dress and the sweater together with a pair of quirky, burgundy & cream fox print socks. I cozied the look up with a pair of black thigh highs and cream knit scarf. Golden layered necklaces and black booties perfected the look.

Faux Fur & Red Lipstick

 photo IMG_8393_zpsfd8a5a39.jpg

Hello! This photo is of one of my outfits from earlier this week. I styled this look around this paisley top. The paisley print consisting of various shades of purples and blues, the peasant shape and sheer fabric of this top make this hippie top one of my favorite tops in my wardrobe. To create a boho-luxe look, I layered a glamorous faux fur jacket over the top and swiped on bold red lipstick. I accessorized with several golden necklaces. Black denim, vintage loafers and oversize glasses completed the look.
