Seventies Nostalgia

Hello! Has anyone else been experiencing unusually pleasant warm weather? We have been for the past couple weeks here in Richmond and I love being able to break out all of my spring looks. For this warm weather look, I pulled out a little black romper from my wardrobe. I love the lace texture and flattering silhouette. I wanted to create a sense of seventies nostalgia within this look so I paired a mustard yellow knit shawl and denim platform heels with the romper. I further enhanced the free-spirited mood of the look with a retro suitcase, western belt, boho jewelry and a yellow pair of aviator shades.

Stepping into Spring in StyleWe

Untitled

Hello! I recently received this dress courtesy of StyleWe to showcase on my blog and am utterly and completely in love with it. In fact, I wore it just a couple days after opening it up in the mail. There's a distinct oriental influence shown through the dress' floral on black print and kimono collar neckline that I really love. And how absolutely perfect is it for spring? This is StyleWe's "Multicolor Floral A-line Frill Sleeve Midi Dress" and it retails for $67.15 here.

For this look, I was going for a sort of "nineties pop star meets fifties/sixties chick" vibe so I styled a pair of purple butterfly shades and lively green purse with the look. A couple turqoise rings, a swipe of futuristic pink lipstick and a vintage belt pulled the look together.

Easy, Breezy, Boho

Hello! DressLink recently sent over this cute little dress that I immediately fell in love with. Yes, yes and yes to the breezy silhouette, easy versatility, boho style and neutral colors. Unfortunately, DressLink is now sold out of this particular dress/tunic but you can browse more casual dresses on their site here. For this look, I played up the dress' bohemian appeal and styled it with a pair of platform denim heels and yellow aviator sunglasses. A pair of black denim jeans, dainty vintage purse and boho dangle earrings pulled the look together.

Leather and Lace

Hello! I decided to play around with contrast in this look through juxtaposition of textures. I pulled a little black piece of vintage lingerie out from my wardrobe to style this look around. I love its silky texture and lace detailing. Although this piece may be intended to be worn as lingerie, it can easily be transformed into everyday attire with the right styling. I contrasted the smooth texture of the top with an edgy pair of black leather pants and vintage beaded jacket. I selected pieces in one color, black, for a reason; I wanted to focus solely on the texture without color factoring into the aesthetic.

I did add a slight pop of color interest to the look through the accessories I styled with it. I grabbed a boho embroidered purse to further enhance the textural contrast of the look. I added another hint of leather texture to the look with a versatile pair of platform heels. Piles of boho jewelry, mint-colored cat-eye sunglasses and a pretty shade of pink lipstick perfected the look.

Dreamy Shades of Pink and Purple

Hello! When I added this gorgeous pink dress to my wardrobe several weeks ago, I had no idea that I would love it as much as I do. I've worn it practically once a week ever since the day that it arrived on my doorstep from NastyGal. Its light pink color, bohemian silhouette and versatility make it one of my favorite dresses to style. There are just so many different ways to style this dress; check out previous ways that I've styled it here, here and here.

I wanted to focus on emphasizing the soft, feminine appeal of the dress in this look so I stuck with a fairly light color palette of dreamy shades of pink, purple and glimmering gold. I slipped on a vintage robe over the dress as a sort of lightweight jacket/kimono. I can't get over how much I love the romantic lilac color, floral print and vintage appeal of this piece. I originally thrifted it for sale in my etsy shop, RaddayVintage, but it quickly captured my heart and I added it to my own personal wardrobe instead.

I slipped on a pair of light-colored golden, knee-high boots with the look to make more of a fashion statement. I accessorized with a major statement necklace, retro pair of shades and translucent pink purse. Confession: I maybe (definitely) purchased this purse from the local tween boutique that I work at. What can I say? We sell cute things! (I also have my eye on another pouch that I plan on purchasing next week.)

Textural Interest

Untitled

Hello! For this look, I pulled my current favorite little black dress out of my wardrobe- this little black and white, star-printed beauty. I've worn this dress more times than I can count so I wanted to focus on styling it in a truly different way than any other time that I've worn in. You can see how I've worn it before here and here.

To differentiate this look from previous looks with this dress, I decided to play around with texture. First, I slipped on a black beaded vintage jacket with the dress. I love how the glamorous texture and unique appeal of the jacket immediately dressed up the look. I contrasted the very ritzy, high-end texture of the jacket with a trendy pair of fishnet tights. My black snakeskin booties and embroidered boho purse added to the textural appeal and interest of the look. A cheerful shade of pink lipstick, small classic pieces of golden jewelry and a statement pair of pink shades perfected the look.

Hello! Happy Valentine's Day! I figured sharing a dreamy pink look with you all today would be fitting for the holiday. When I purchased this pretty pink dress from Nasty Gal, I had no idea that I'd wear it so much but I swear, I want to wear it all the time- at least once a week for sure. I just adore the ethereal appeal, dreamy pink color and tiered silhouette of the dress. Definitely a good purchase!

Hello! I had this past weekend off so I utilized my free time working on RaddayVintage's spring/summer 2017 collection. I spent countless hours shooting, editing and working new product up to introduce to the shop.

For the collection, I'm focusing on vibrant color and interesting texture. I believe that fashion should be fun and I want the collection to reflect that mindset. That being said, I'm trying to steer away from more basic pieces or neutrals.

Featured above are a few of my favorite images thus far from RaddayVintage's spring/summer 2017 collection. You can shop the vintage pink midi dress for $25 here, the teal eighties gown for $75 here and the silver disco minidress for $25 here

Big thanks to Magan Shively for being a wonderful model as always! You can check her out on Instagram @magan_shively

DressLink: 3 Pieces I'm Loving Right Now

Untitled

Hello! DressLink recently sent me a bundle of goodies to incorporate into my wardrobe and I'm totally in love with everything that they sent me. Today, I wanted to share several of my favorite pieces that they sent me with you all:

1. Trendy pink reflective sunglasses. These are DressLink's "Retro Oval Slim Hollow Metal Frame UV Protection Sunglasses" in pink and they retail for $12.45. A cool cat-eye shape, trendy reflective finish and pretty pink color...what's not to love? And for less than $15, they're definitely quite the steal.

2. Fashion-forward little black crop top. This is DressLink's "Black New Women Sexy Slash Neck Long Sleeve Off Shoulder Hater Choker Crop Top" and it retails for $13.75. I don't usually do crop tops but I adore the trendy detailing of this one. It's a great winter to spring transition piece.

3. Light pink fishnet thigh-high stockings. These are DressLink's "Lace Fishnet Thigh High Stockings Small Net Thigh" and they retail for $2.91. What can I say? I just had to try out the fishnet trend for myself. And I must say I'm digging it! I love the subtle nature of these fishnet thigh-high stockings.

Fifties Housewife?

Hello! I recently teamed up with local photographer Nicholas Von Thrower for a little vintage-inspired photoshoot and I cannot get over how much I love the results from our shoot. We shot several different looks including this dreamy retro ensemble.

I'm typically inspired by sixties/seventies vintage but can't deny the distinct fifties/sixties mood of this look. I'm sort of torn between nicknaming this look "fifties housewife" or "sixties baby" because both feel so suiting.

I started styling the look around this pretty little pink vintage number that I scored this past fall on one of my RaddayVintage buying excursions. The bright pink color, futuristic sixties silhouette and flattering fit of the dress immediately persuaded me to keep the dress for myself, instead of listing it for sale in my shop. And boy, am I glad that I did keep this beauty; I've worn it countless times since adding it to my wardrobe.

I kept it simple for this look, styling it with a pair of golden, knee-high boots and seventies vintage ring. I played around with my makeup, dressing my eyelids up with a pretty pink glitter shadow and lining my lashes with sparkling rhinestones.

Seeing Yellow

Hello! I recently added the coolest pair of yellow aviator shades to my wardrobe and I haven't stopped wearing them since. There's something so undeniably hip yet unique about these shades that has completely and totally captured my heart (and sort of makes me want to buy a similar pair with other colored lenses- can you imagine these shades with blue lenses? Swoon!) These are GiantVintage's "shooter" sunglasses and they retail for just $16 HERE

RaddayVintage: Major Sale Alert

Hello! I'm excited to announce that I'll be moving to a place of my own within the next month or so. I've been living at home since my graduation in May and am thrilled to be moving into a space that I can truly call my own (and decorate with incredible seventies magic.) But don't worry Richmond friends, I'll still be calling RVA my home!

I may be stoked to move but I'm certainly not stoked on the idea of having to physically move everything from my current living space to my new home. Besides my personal belongings, I have racks and boxes and boxes full of vintage beauties that I'm currently offering for sale in my etsy shop, RaddayVintage. I've decided to run a major sale in my shop now through the time of the big move to make that move just a little bit easier. I've slashed prices on almost all of my listings in order to encourage sales. That floral kimono I'm wearing above? It just sold for $15 on sale this morning. That fringe jacket I'm wearing? Still currently available for sale for $25

So go ahead. Treat yourself to that vintage nightgown that you've had your eye on or that chic vintage jacket- you deserve it! And I can't even begin to explain how much I'll appreciate any sales that help the move. Check out my shop, RaddayVintage, HERE.
