hello Fashion, Trends & More readers!  im so excited to be over here today!  if you dont know me my name is madison over at madison avenue.  i started my blog in January as a sophomore in high school.  my blog is a fashion and refashion blog.  i love to make a lot of my clothes!  i love to refashion because if i have something that i don't like i can just make it into something entirely new that i love without spending any money!

i think i have a very eclectic style.  i love the bohemian style with the beautiful prints and feathers, but i also love vintage with its florals and classic pieces.

i LOVE to layer!  even in the summer, you will always see me wearing a scarf.  they're just too cute to give  up!  this skirt was a refashion that i did.  i made it out  of an old t-shirt.

i love to mix prints!  like with this outfit i mixed a striped shirt with a floral scarf.  i think that it makes the outfit more interesting and fun!  this scarf was also a refashion.  it was a dress that i made into a skirt and a scarf.

florals florals florals!  florals are my favorite!  they're so beautiful and also super easy to match!  this was also a refashion that i did.  it was a dress that i made into a shirt...and a skirt!  i call it my two for one special because i can wear it as either one!

i love thrifting!  you can get the most unique things from a thrift store!  some of my favorite clothes are thrifted!  like in this outfit my shirt, belt and skirt are all thrifted.  i mainly love to go thrifting to find things to restyle!  this skirt was also a restyle that i did.  it was a dress that i made into a scarf and a skirt!

DIY: Peacock Feather Necklace

I was inspired to make a piece of feather jewelry after going shopping and seeing beautiful feather jewelry all over the place. Today, I decided I wanted to make a feather necklace, perhaps some feather earrings. Lucky for me, I had feathers left over from when I made a feather headband. I thought I would use them for that DIY but I never did. I used a peacock feather for this DIY but you can use any type of feather that catches your eye.
Making this feather necklace was relatively simple. First you should gather your materials. Materials: Feather/s, a small amount of wire, scissors, and a plain necklace chain. Next, you should wrap the wire around the tip of the feather and make a small loop hole at the top of the wire. After that all you have to do is to slip your feather "charm" onto the chain and voila! Instant feather glam!

***If you don't have an extra chain, you can gather old, broken chains and put them together to get one long chain. That's what I did for my necklace and it worked perfectly. You will need pliers if you do this though.***

Vintage Love

Some people have a passion for fashion, some people have a passion for vintage, some people have both. I am one of those people who have both. I love vintage. Vintage clothing and accessories have an almost romantic touch. You may never know who wore them before you or what they wore them to. This adds a touch of mystery and makes me love vintage even more. The following pieces are vintage pieces are pieces that have walked their way not only into my closet but into my heart. These belts can add flair to any outfit. I tend to wear the leather one at least once a week, while I still haven't worn the gold one.
Ah, my vintage Christian Dior 100% silk top. This has to be one of my best vintage finds ever. When I originally bought it, it was a bodysuit but I cut it and voila! A chic, trendy top was born.
This light sea green floor length dress is my favorite vintage piece in my wardrobe. To me this dress represents fashion, vintage and romance at their best. It is a light, airy beautiful dress that was purchased at an estate sale for $1. The price was amazing and I snatched up this beauty as fast as I could. When I got home, I tried it on and to my delight it fit me perfectly! It is still waiting to be worn however, sitting on a special hanger among my many other dresses in my closet. I plan to wear this dress on a very special occasion next year. Prom. With a little alteration, this dress will dazzle everyone.
This luggage set was a gift from my parents. I love vintage suitcases and this one even looks good in my room.
My vintage pearl clip was a recent purchase and I can't wait to wear it. The cameo I've had for a while now and is always a great source of inspiration.
These gloves represent femininity and chicness at their prime. Even though I don't wear them often, I like to just have them.
This vintage camera case may seem simple but I love it. I use it as a purse and it matches so many of my outfits!

Wondering my reason for this lovely vintage post? Well Tanyabell from Fabulous for $50 and Under is having a contest where she wants to see what everyone's favorite vintage items in their closet are. You should totally check it out! There are cool vintage prizes to be won:) Click here for her blog and click here for the contest post.

Farmer's Market

Hi! This is what I wore when I went to a Farmer's Market and thrift shopping near my lake house last weekend. The Farmer's Market was great; I loved the variety in what was being sold. I ended up buying some really pretty silver bird earrings for about $3. The only downside to the Farmer's Market was that it was incredibly hot outside!( Maybe the half-sleeve cardigan wasn't really a good idea?) After my family went to the Farmer's Market, we went to the Goodwill. Let me just say that I love the specific Goodwill that we went to. The prices are phenomenal and I can always find something that I love there. I ended up buying a bunch of old clothing patterns for 59 cents each and cute never been worn before Target tights for $1. Did you know that after a certain date Target just donates their merchandise to Goodwill? I love that!

Floral Romper

Hi! Sorry I haven't posted an outfit recently; it's been unbearably hot and I haven't wanted to go outside to take photos. So anyways, I wanted something easy yet chic to wear today so I threw on this vintage romper. This romper was given to me by my mom and I love the contrast of the yellow floral on the black background. The funniest thing about this romper is that every time I put it on, the song Black and Yellow pops into my head.
