Seventies Chic, Per Usual

Hello! SheIn recently sent me this dress to incorporate into my wardrobe and I was so excited to wear it that I styled it for a shoot the very next day after receiving it in the mail. This is SheIn's "Buttoned Keyhole Front Lantern Sleeve Embroidered Smock Dress" dress and it retails for $24 here. Its breezy silhouette, seventies-inspired embroidery and boho design all captured my heart.

I played up its retro appeal for this look by styling it with what I call my "seventies disco heels," a multi-colored pair of metallic platform heels. I had fun with color for this look, grabbing a bright pink pair of sunglasses and bold teal earrings to pair with the dress. Boho rings, a golden vintage watch and a chic vintage navy-colored purse perfected the look.

Stop and Smell the Roses

Hello! Zaful recently sent me this little black dress to incorporate into my fall wardrobe and I've been wearing it on repeat week after week ever since receiving it. This is their "Slip Lace Embroidered Rose Applique Dress" and it retails for $13.99 here. Its floral rose embroidery, classic silhouette and lace details make it a black dress unlike any other LBD in my wardrobe. I'm looking forward to all of the different ways that I can style it this fall; I love it without any layers (like featured above) but am also excited to experiment with layering other pieces with it. I think it'd look especially good with a warm-colored turtleneck layered underneath of it or a fringe jacket layered over top of it.

I wanted to play up the rosy color of the floral embroidery on the dress so I slipped into a burgundy pair of velvet booties. I added a touch of pink to the look with a trendy pair of pink sunglasses and matching lipstick. I accessorized with simple golden jewelry and my favorite statement purse.

Hello! I recently teamed up with Nicholas Von Thrower, a local Richmond photographer, for a collaborative photoshoot. Nick and I have collaborated together throughout the past few years and he continually impresses me with his work. You can see our previous shoots on my blog here, here, here, here and here

For this photoshoot, we utilized my dreamy seventies home as the location. We focused on color and texture for the shoot, selecting garments in rich textures like velvet as well as pieces in warm-colored hues like maroon and pale pink. The looks reflected the dreamy seventies appeal of my home and captured a very vintage essence. Nick played around with a prism to create unique photo effects that helped us to achieve maximum seventies, hazy magic.

I will be posting more favorite shots from the collaboration throughout the next month on my Instagram so be sure to follow me @toriradday to see more from this shoot.

Fall 1967 Paris, France

Hello! It recently cooled down enough in Richmond that I was able to pull out one of my favorite pieces from my wardrobe: this cream-colored vintage dream of a jacket. My grandmother passed this vintage beauty down to me from her wardrobe several years ago and I have a feeling that I'll cherish it forever. You can see how I've styled it before here, here and here.

Years past inspired my styling for this look and more specifically fall of 1967 in Paris, France. I styled it with a cream-colored jumpsuit and I love the monochromatic appeal of the cream-on-cream color combination. I added to the late sixties/early seventies vibe of the look by slipping into a paisley pair of platform heels. Aviator glasses and a vintage fur beret contributed to the retro flair of the look as well. Golden statement earrings, a stylish watch and a swipe of dark lipstick added to the chic Parisian flair of the look.

Hello! I thrifted this little green dress a couple months ago and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite dresses in my wardrobe despite not having yet made an appearance on the blog. Its rich emerald green color instantly drew me in when I spotted it at a local Richmond thrift shop. It fit me like a dream when I tried it on and I knew it was meant to be. Its silky texture, flattering silhouette and subtle elegance all contribute to my love for it.

I styled it with an assortment of golden accessories and nude heels for this look. Golden sunglasses and a silver statement purse perfected the look.

Hello! Zaful recently sent me an assortment of stylish accessories to incorporate into my fall wardrobe including this cool denim choker necklace and trendy face portrait earrings. I love both pieces and have already worn them several times. You can check the choker out for $2.38 here and the earrings for $3.25 here.

I wanted the focus of this look to be on the accessories so I slipped into a simple yet chic gray top and black high-rise denim. I added a little seventies boho flair to the look with a leather fringe jacket and black and silver western belt. I also accessorized with a handful of rings, a vintage pendant necklace, a classic watch and golden shades. I added a slight touch of color to the look with a pair of red-hot lace-up heels and a swipe of red lipstick.

Pink Lady

Hello! I recently teamed up with local Richmond photographer, Wanyeh Hill, for a studio shoot. I don't typically shoot in a studio setting but I'm really digging the photos from the shoot. We opted for a bold pink backdrop and I styled looks in coordinating pink and burgundy hues. I've been "team pink" so to speak for a while now and to my surprise, my fondness for the color still hasn't diminished.

I took style cues from the seventies when selecting both of the looks featured above. I pulled a little velvet burgundy bodysuit out of my wardrobe for the first look and styled it with a boho pair of floral bellbottoms. I accessorized with a western-inspired silver belt, silver statement earrings and hot pink shades. I amped up the retro appeal of the look with a dreamy seventies vintage shawl.

I decided upon a floral boho dress for my second look. Its boho pattern, rich maroon hue and bell sleeves all appeal to my fondness for the seventies. A hot pink pair of aviator sunglasses and a vintage paisley scarf worn around my neck added to the retro style of the look. Pink pompom earrings perfected the look.

The Dreamiest Earrings

Hello! Recently Zaful sent me these beautiful celestial earrings to incorporate into my fall wardrobe and I can't get enough of them. I've been wearing them on repeat for the past couple of weeks. These are their "Rhinestone Sun Moon Drop Earrings" and they retail for just $3.32 here. I love their dramatic design and sparkling rhinestone detailing. They're versatile enough to complement a wide variety of styles yet bold enough to always make a stylish statement.

I wanted the focus of this look to be on the earrings so I styled them with a simple yet chic little black dress. I accessorized with a couple necklaces, a pair of Givenchy sunglasses and a classic watch. Sparkling rhinestones under my eyes played up the glamorous appeal of the earrings.

Lilienthal Berlin

Hello! Lilienthal Berlin recently sent me this watch and I can't stop wearing it. I've worn it practically every day since receiving it in the mail a couple weeks ago. It adds such chic charm to any look. This is their L1 watch in gray and it retails for $219 here. I would highly recommend checking out Lilienthal Berlin's selection of watches and treating yourself to a piece that you'll wear daily.

I styled it with a little black and white striped turtleneck dress for this look. I've been really inspired by red, white, blue and black color aesthetics lately so I decided to style a couple additional pops of navy, red and black with the dress. I layered a white preppy vintage sweater over the dress; I recently thrifted this sweater for less than $5 and love its classic style and patriotic red and blue details.

I added a little more red to the look with a swipe of red lipstick, a pair of red heart sunglasses and a vintage red Budweiser bandana tied around my vintage purse. Black heeled booties and a handful of chic golden accessories perfected the look.
