Goodbye 2014

 photo IMG_8128_zpsf044cd6d.jpg

Hello! It's hard to believe that 2014 is coming to an end. This year has been a year full of goals, accomplishments and new experiences. An internship for a local magazine, two semesters at Philadelphia University, various blog collaborations, new friends, figuring my life out, etc. have all made 2014 a great year. Blogging has impacted my year significantly- it contributed to me acquiring my RVAMag and Skirt the Issue internships, has allowed me to network and stimulated my interest in fashion journalism. 2014 would not have been the same without my blog and for that, I am eternally grateful.

Now, here's to hoping that 2015 is even better!

I hope that you guys all enjoy your New Year's Eve celebrations tomorrow night and remember to be safe!

Shaggy Fur Jacket & Thigh Highs

 photo IMG_8070_zpscdfddee8.jpg
 photo IMG_8078_zpsce016de4.jpg

Hello! These photos were taken of my outfit that I wore yesterday. I took the opportunity to show off several new pieces in my wardrobe. I started my look with these chic floral shorts. I just purchased these floral shorts from Urban Outfitters a couple days ago. They were having their 50% off clearance sale when I went in the other day and I purchased these shorts for only $15. They originally were selling for $50 so getting them for just $15 made my day. I love the watercolor floral print, lace trim and shades of peach and black in the shorts. They shout effortless and free-spirited and I don't think that I could ever love a pair of shorts anymore than I love these.

I accentuated the black in the shorts with a simple black long-sleeve top. I layered a luxe, bohemian jacket with the look. I also just purchased this shaggy faux fur jacket from H&M a couple days ago. It originally retailed for $60 but I got it on sale for $30. This jacket was definitely a steal and I'm delighted to have added it to my wardrobe. I've really been loving faux fur jackets recently and this one will be easy to style with so many different looks.

For this look, I also pulled out a new pair of burgundy thigh highs. I received these thigh high socks for Christmas and love the deep burgundy color and texture of them. I styled my black heeled booties with them. I accessorized with several stone rings, a druzy necklace and a feather necklace. Berry lipstick completed the look.

Hello! Merry Christmas Eve! My sister and I dressed up in pretty dresses and faux fur coats and posed for a few quick photos to celebrate Christmas Eve today.

For my sister's look, I picked out a flattering gray dress from her wardrobe. I recently purchased this dress for her from Charlotte Russe and love the fit & flare style of the dress as well as the heather gray color. I styled a leopard print, faux fur coat with her look for a glamorous feeling. A statement necklace and black combat boots completed the look.

I styled my look around this opulent velvet dress; I have a weakness for anything velvet and that includes this dress. I also glammed up my look with a shaggy faux fur jacket. Black booties, black tights, golden jewelry and red lipstick perfected the look.

Hope that you guys are enjoying your holiday!

Kitty Cats & Plaid

 photo IMG_7732_zpsb4d054bb.jpg

Hello! This photo was taken of my outfit one day this past weekend. I'm beginning to run out of new outfit ideas and have been playing around with layering more and more to try to create more looks. Since I took a bus from Philadelphia to Richmond, I wasn't able to bring all of my clothing back with me; in fact, I could only bring a suitcase and backpack so fitting enough clothes for over a month was quite the struggle. However, I think that I did a pretty good job with it. I brought back all of my favorite versatile pieces that are easily layered and styled with one another.

This look revolves around two of my favorite dresses- my black and white kitty cat dress and a dark plaid shirtdress. I started the look with the kitty cat dress and layered the plaid shirtdress over it and left the shirtdress unbuttoned. The way that the kitty cat print and plaid interact has a unique, quirky appeal; I love the contrast between the two prints and the intertwined color palette of the patterns. I threw on a neutral vintage jacket over the dresses.

In order to emphasize the classic school-girl feeling that the plaid shirtdress portrayed, I donned a pair of simple black tights with a pair of preppy vintage loafers. I also chose to wear my oversize glasses and swiped on bold red lipstick.

Hello! Today, I want to share a few of my favorite images from Free People's most recent lookbook with you guys. The lookbook showcases Zella Day, up-and-coming musician, in Free People's latest merchandise.

The feminine prints and lace in this lookbook create a very romantic, free-spirited feeling. Additionally, there is an overwhelming feeling of serenity in this lookbook. I'm absolutely falling head over heels in love with the look in the second photo; the monochromatic layering of different textured pieces creates an aesthetic that I can't help but to love.

This is definitely one of my favorite Free People lookbooks. What do you guys think of it?

Ditsy Daisies

 photo IMG_7687_zps48cefbba.jpg

Hello! I styled this look around this vintage daisy dress. I recently picked this dress up at a thrift shop for just $7. The oversize style, babydoll fit and ditsy daisy print instantly drew me to this 90s dress. It's definitely more of a spring/summer dress but with a bit of layering, I can easily work it into my winter wardrobe.

For this look, I layered an oversize knit cardigan (borrowed from my mom once again) with the dress. I love the cozy knit and length of this cardigan. Sorry mom but I think that this sweater actually belongs in my wardrobe.

To add a pop of color to the look, I slipped into a pair of bold green thigh highs and grabbed a simple green stone necklace. Black booties completed the look.

Vintage Beauty

 photo IMG_7549_zps7618785b.jpg
 photo IMG_7547_zps10b524ff.jpg

Hello! These photos are from a couple of days ago when I took the chance to show off my new vintage top. The second that I spotted this vintage beauty hanging in a thrift store earlier this week, I knew that it had to be mine. The intricate luxe beading and rich burgundy color of the top exude glamour and festivity. I'm also drawn to the top because it reminds me of something that would be found in Free People or Anthropologie's holiday collections which I've recently been swooning over.

The top was a steal at a mere $10; I could hardly believe that I scooped up such a gorgeous vintage find for so little. Recently, I've been slacking finding vintage treasures like this one and I'm very happy to have purchased it. I could spend hours thinking about the stylish people that previously wore this top and all the parties and events that it was worn to.

For a classic, put-together look, I styled the top with my black Skirt the Issue skirt, a pair of black tights and a pair of heeled booties. I glammed up the look with a leopard print, faux fur coat and swipe of dark lipstick. This is an ideal look for a holiday party.

Paisley & Thigh Highs

 photo IMG_7482_zpsb858da05.jpg
 photo IMG_7487_zpsae0ea39c.jpg

Hello! My blog schedule has gotten a little out of whack recently; my outfit posts seem to be delayed by about a day or so. Since I'm home, it's incredibly easy to snap a few photos daily but I can't always blog those photos that day. These photos were taken of my outfit yesterday.

The weather was surprisingly sunny and warm for a day in mid-December. It reached the high 50s/low 60s and is the kind of perfect weather that I dream about daily. For the beautiful weather, I slipped into a gorgeous burgundy, paisley dress. The peasant shape/style, 70's inspired print and rich maroon color of this dress have me swooning over it. I purchased it for about $25 at Forever 21 a while back and am still very pleased that I did. I styled it with a pair of cozy gray thigh highs and black heeled booties.

I switched things up with my accessories and ditched my usual cluster of rings and necklaces for an assortment of vintage pins. I love pairing a bunch of quirky pins together for a completely unique look. One small pin on its own may not make a bold statement but pairing a few together certainly will. For this look, I grabbed my golden U.S. pin, Canada pin, vintage stone brooch, Beta club pin, simple golden pin and shiny, golden horse pin.

Based on the clothes I brought back to Richmond and from my past several outfits, I've concluded that 90% of my wardrobe consists of pretty dresses and thigh highs. And I'm quite content with that.

Bio Seaweed Gel

 photo IMG_7414_zps4933c5f3.jpg
 photo IMG_7412_zps80231545.jpg

Hello! These are a couple of the photos that I took of my look yesterday. The weather was very pretty outside early in the morning when I took these photos but quickly turned into a dreary, rainy day. I ended up grabbing lunch with a friend in Carytown and then spent the day curled up in bed with the third season of American Horror Story.

I styled my black polka dot dress as the base of this look. I layered on a bohemian, crochet top borrowed from my mom's wardrobe on top of the dress. It's tempting to just try to sneak this top out of my mom's wardrobe and into mine permanently but I'm sure she would notice. The intricate crochet, neutral color, length and fringe of the top create the best bohemian, hippie appeal. This top reminds me of something that would be sold in Free People or Anthropologie.

To emphasize the free-spirited vibe of the look, I styled a simple stone necklace and several rings with the look. I also styled the rings with the look to show off my freshly painted nails. Recently, Bio Seaweed Gel sent me one of their gel nailpolishes to try out and I love how it looks. This is the "247 Blue Jays" gel polish from their Unity All-In-One Collection

Bio Seaweed Gel sells gel nail polish in a wide variety of colors. Bio Seaweed is the only healthy gel nail polish currently on the market. And unlike other gel nailpolishes, Bio Seaweed gel doesn't need a special light to finish the manicure under; you simply paint your nails with the polish and let the sun finish the nails.

I'm very pleased with the sample that Bio Seaweed Gel sent me to review on my blog. It was very easy to apply and dried very nicely. Unlike traditional nail polish, it dried within just two minutes and looked perfect after drying- no cracks, scratches or smudges. Usually, I worry about resuming normal activity after painting my nails but I didn't have to worry about that at all with this nail polish. Once my nails were done drying in the sun, there was no messing them up.

I'm content with how my nails look; to me, they look just as nice as they would if I got them done at a salon. I'm also very fond of the deep teal color that I selected- perfect for the winter season. I would definitely recommend checking out Bio Seaweed Gel. Nailpolishes retail for $18 each; check out their selection here

I wanted to let the crochet top and accessories be the center of attention of the outfit so I styled a simple pair of black tights and booties with the look.

Plaid & Red Lipstick

 photo IMG_6511_zps06a33a91.jpeg

Hello! This photo was taken this past weekend. This plaid shirtdress is my go-to dress; I love the dark, wintery colors and classic silhouette and print. I borrowed a flowy cardigan from my sister's wardrobe to keep warm. The open style and light gray color of this sweater make it extremely versatile. Now, if only this sweater was actually mine and not just borrowed from my sister...

I styled the dress with a pair of black tights and layered a pair of gray socks over them to accentuate the color of the sweater. A neutral pair of combat boots and bold red lipstick completed the look.

Oversize Sweater & Thigh Highs

 photo IMG_7356_zps3a697b4e.jpg

Hello! Today, I started my look with this breezy sunflower dress. The lightweight material, open back and ditsy sunflower print of this dress definitely make it more of a summer dress. However, I simply can't keep away from this dress. With a little layering, this dress can easily transition from my summer wardrobe to my winter wardrobe. You can check out THIS post I wrote in September for ways to transition your wardrobe from summer to fall/winter.

To make the dress weather appropriate, I styled it with a cozy knit scarf and oversize cardigan today. Being back at home in Richmond means that my sweater selection has expanded tenfold; I can browse both my mom's and sister's collection of sweaters to borrow from. I borrowed this oversize knit cardigan from my mom's wardrobe. The intricate knit and length of this cardigan immediately drew me to it. It's also incredibly comfortable. I wish that this sweater actually belonged in my wardrobe rather than my mom's.

I emphasized the color in the sunflower print of the dress with a pair of orange thigh highs. These are possibly my favorite pair of thigh highs; they stay up so well and I love the texture. I just don't get a chance to wear them as often as other pairs of my thigh highs because of the bold orange color.

I finished my look with a pair of oversize tortoiseshell glasses and classic brown loafers.

Hello! These photos were taken of my outfit yesterday. I was excited to pull this shaggy fur jacket out of my wardrobe for a bohemian, Free People inspired look. To enhance the free-spirited vibe, I slipped on a pair of patterned bellbottoms nostalgic of the hippie fashion of the 1960s. I styled the pants with a pair of neutral vintage loafers and a vintage lace top. I accessorized with several golden necklaces, stone rings and a "love" bracelet. Dark lipstick completed the look.

Hello Richmond

 photo IMG_7066JPG_zps470f7792.jpeg

Hello! I'm baaaaack in Richmond! Luckily, I finished all of my final exams and presentations early this semester so I was able to come home pretty early. I just got in to Richmond a few hours ago and it feels great to be back and not to have to stress about school.

The weather in Richmond today is absolutely beautiful and allowed me to forgo wearing tights. It feels wonderful to walk around without tights or thigh high socks on- so freeing! Fingers crossed that the weather stays like this for a while.

Today, I styled my look around this pretty paisley dress. The seventies inspired print and deep burgundy color have me swooning over this dress.

I layered a cozy knit sweater over the dress. To accentuate the colors in the print of the dress, I styled a plum colored scarf and quirky maroon fox socks with the look. Black booties completed the look.

Side note: Ignore my messy hair in these photos; I mean how good could my hair possibly look after a 7 hour bus ride??

What to Wear: Holiday Party

Hello! As the holiday season progresses, there are more and more holiday events and festivities to prepare for such as numerous holiday parties. Holiday parties are great because they give you a reason to dress up (and hello, free food and drinks are the best). However, sometimes it can be difficult crafting the perfect holiday look. Below are two stylish looks great for the next holiday party that you attend.

If you try out either look, I'd love to see photos! Mention me on Instagram @ToriRadday or share the photos with me via email at tori@fashiontrendsmore.com

Holiday Outfit

Look #1: For this look, I was very inspired by recent Free People images and Free People stylists' instagrams. Start off this holiday party look with a delicate, structured lace dress. Add a bohemian-luxe touch to the look with a shaggy fur coat. Style a pair of opaque black tights under the dress and slide on a pair of neutral, knit socks over top of the tights and scrunch them up at the bottom. To dress the look up a little bit, grab a nice pair of heeled booties, classic crossbody bag and dark lipstick.

Of course, a holiday party look wouldn't be complete without jewelry so I also styled several pieces from Chairish with the look. Chairish is a curated, vintage marketplace and they have an incredible collection of vintage jewelry. What really draws me to their assortment of jewelry is the unique, one of a kind vintage pieces that they offer. All pieces are sure to make a statement and you are guaranteed that you won't ever be caught wearing the same piece as someone else. For this look, I selected their Trina Turk Oversize Faux Tortoise Gold Ring, 14k Gold Band, Trina Turk Rectangular Copper Ring and Trifari Asian Regency Necklace

Outfit #2

Look #2: This very put-together look would be perfect for any holiday party. Start the look with a long-sleeve romper in a deep winter color such as teal like the romper above. Layer a printed jacket over the romper to keep warm. Style a pair of black thigh high socks and black platform booties with the romper to accentuate your legs. Dress the look up with an elegant clutch and red lipstick.

Additionally, I styled the Crown Trifari 70s Silver Tassel Pendant Necklace from Chairish with this look. This necklace is sure to turn heads; I love its bohemian charm as well as the length of this necklace which is perfectly flattering with the neckline of this romper.
