A Pop of Red

Hello! I think that this mustard yellow tank top may be one of my new favorites in my wardrobe. The color makes it extremely versatile and the patterned texture keeps it from being too boring. I still can't believe that this top cost me less than $10 from Forever 21. Hello, sales rack! And what is even more unbelievable is that I bought it last fall and have only now begun to utilize it in my wardrobe. However, this fall I'm not going to let this piece silently mope in the back of my wardrobe. It is the ideal layering piece and such a gorgeous color for fall. Anyway, less about this top and its future career in my wardrobe and more about how I styled it in this look. 

When planning out this look, I knew that I wanted to wear my striped heels with this mustard colored top. These striped heels are probably one of my favorite pairs of heels in my wardrobe. I mean platform heels and stripes all in one? Yes, please! I also am a big fan of the colors of the stripes- red, mustard, yellow & light-brown. They just scream "autumn" even if it is still summer and scorching hot outside. And after all, we are only about a month away from autumn. 

I played up the red stripes on my heels by lacquering my lips with a pop of red lipstick and throwing on a pair of red heart sunglasses. A neutral, cream-colored skirt kept the look from being overwhelmed with color. I accessorized with a handful of golden rings and my vintage Chanel earrings.
