Hello! Today, I wore a quirky- cute look perfect for Friday. I paired two new pieces from Forever 21- a cutesy heart printed dress and a trendy, metallic lace top with my faux Doc Martens, a vintage watch, gray lipstick and over sized Ray Ban glasses.
Recently, I was sent these quirky, nerdy eyeglasses for free in order to help promote the new digital series, "Eyes on Style." "Eyes on Styles" is a series of youtube videos where fashion expert Joe Zee (he is the creative director for Elle Magazine) talks about how to find your perfect pair of specs. Zee also talks about all the fun new styles of eyewear out there and how you can use your eyeglasses to express yourself. He states that "There’s no better place to start than with a defining optical style," when defining your style. I don't want to give everything away so I have embedded the video below so that you can watch it! But basically, he helps three people find the right eyeglass shape/ style for their face in this episode. I find this really helpful because I always struggle with finding the right style/shape of eyeglasses for my face. It is only about 8 or 9 minutes and it really contains some great information.
I decided to choose a pair of classic Ray Bans to review. My face is relatively petite and I decided to play that up by selecting a pair of over sized frames. They give a very nerdy yet stylish vibe to my look. As for the actual glasses, they are flawless! The Ray Ban brand has been around for about 75 years and has clearly perfected their glasses. The glasses are phenomenal quality and extraordinarily stylish. I used to shy away from glasses because I never felt that they really enhanced my face or my style. I felt that they added "blah" to my look. But after receiving this pair of glasses and watching this video, my entire perspective has changed. Glasses are no longer a boring thing that you are required to wear but a way to express yourself. If you watched the video, Joe Zee definitely explained how specs can enhance your style!
