Floral on Floral

Hello! For this look, I started with these bohemian, floral pants. The bell-bottom style and whimsy print emit a nostalgic 70's vibe. These pants are one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe and are frequently worn.

However, it's starting to get harder and harder to style different pieces with these pants to create new looks. I've already styled all my favorite sweaters and shirts with the pants so it's now time to get creative. To mix things up, I decided to style a dress with the pants rather than a shirt or sweater. I styled a summer-y, sunflower print dress over the pants. I tucked the front of the dress into my pants to create a ruffled effect at the bottom of the dress and to keep the dress from covering too much of the pants.

I typically don't like how dresses look worn with pants but in this case, I do. The reason why this dress and these pants work together is because the dress is such a lightweight, breezy dress and can effortlessly be tucked into the pants without looking bulky. Additionally, these pants are made from a fabric similar to leggings, allowing for easier layering.

I wore a black lace bandeau under the dress and slipped a burnt orange cardigan over it. I recently purchased this cardigan and have been resisting the urge to wear it every single day. The long fit and burnt orange color of the cardigan make it immensely appealing. It's from Urban Outfitters and cost about $45; originally it retailed for $60 but I got it on sale for 30% off. $45 is more than I typically like to pay for anything in my wardrobe but I figured that this was a good investment for the next few cold months. It's the ideal layering piece and I look forward to styling it with many more looks.

I accessorized my look with a simple golden necklace, druzy necklace, a couple stone rings and then a few more simple rings. Oversize glasses and vintage loafers completed the free-spirited look.

  1. You look so cool in this outfit- I love how you have your own unique style x And I agree with spending money on clothes, when something seems like a statement piece, you know it's worth spending a bit more money on!
