Hello! As winter progresses, I'm drawn to wearing more and more black. The days seem bleaker and when I wake up at 7am and hear the wind whistling outside my window, trying to throw together anything other than an outfit revolving around black feels mildly painful. These photos were taken a couple weeks ago while I was still in Richmond and it wasn't quite as cold. I wouldn't dare step outside simply wearing this feathery sweater today, it's freezing here!
For this look, I styled my outfit around this classic black romper. I purchased this romper from Express earlier this season and I've fallen head over in heels in love with it. It's such a sophisticated piece and I adore the lace detailing. While many people don't view rompers as an ideal piece for winter, rompers can easily be styled to face chilly weather. To keep cozy in this look, I slipped on a pair of black velvet-printed tights under the romper. Not only does the velvet overlay on these tights add style to them but also makes them slightly warmer than regular tights.
I wasn't really feeling color so I reached for a few neutral pieces to complete this look. To add texture and warmth to the look, I slipped on a tan, chunky knit infinity scarf and a cream-colored feathery sweater. I accentuated the color of the scarf by styling my nude Jeffrey Campbell heels with the outfit. I grabbed a pair of movie star sunglasses to complete the sophisticated, classic look.
Velvet patterned tights: Urban Outfitters
Nude-colored heels: Jeffrey Campbell
Black romper: Express
Feather-y sweater: Free People via Ashby
Knit scarf: Forever 21
Sunglasses: c/o Giant Vintage
Very cute and chic! I especially love the feathery sweater over the romper and paired with the tights. I'm basically obsessed with adding a pop of white with a black outfit, because I think it looks so cute!
