Mod Inspiration: Scooby Doo Where are You?

Scooby Doo Where are You Fashion Inspiration

Hello! Okay, I have a confession to make: a couple weeks ago, I purchased the second season of Scooby Doo: Where are You? on iTunes and shamelessly binge-watched the show. I absolutely adored the show when I was younger and I feel no differently towards it today. Yes, this iconic cartoon television show is intended for a younger audience but it's also so rich in sixties and seventies culture that I can't resist it.

I'm really inspired by the use of bold, mod colors in the show. Through the use of color, you can definitely tell that this TV series debuted in the late 1960's! The Mystery Machine, the Malt Shop and other various aspects of the show utilize bright colors that seem to pop right off the screen. In particular, I'm drawn to the outfits of Daphne and Velma (Fred as well but not quite as relatable since he's male and I'm female.) I love how bold colors are paired together for statement looks. Above is a little bit of the style inspiration that I gathered from the show. The seventies made a splash this past fall/winter season and I'm predicting that the sixties will hold style influence this upcoming spring/summer season.
