Great Adventure, New Jersey

A beautiful giraffe looking down upon the cars driving through Great Adventure.
Another giraffe
A European Brown Bear- isn't he cute?
My favorite- the swan
Hi! I took these pictures at Great Adventure in New Jersey. Great Adventure is basically like a giant zoo but instead of walking around, you drive through it in your car. There is the possibility that animals will come right up to your car. In fact, a giraffe came up to my family's car and put his nose on my mom's window. Anyway, these are just some of the photos I took.

DIY: Distressed Shorts

The jeans I bought to distress and cut. $2.50 at a thrift shop. Brand: Bitten by Sarah Jessica Parker

My fabulous new pair of shorts!:)

Level of difficulty: easy
Cost: <$5
Materials: Cheese grater, jeans, scissors, soda can, pencil
Method: First, find a pair of jeans that you want to turn into distressed shorts. I got mine at my favorite thrift shop for $2.50. Next try the jeans on and mark how short you want them with the pencil and afterwards cut them. What I did was marked and cut the jeans by my knee to begin with and gradually cut them shorter and shorter. You can't undo a cut so be careful. After the cutting was done, I used a cheese grater to distress the jeans. To guarantee that I wouldn't grate both sides of the jeans, I placed a soda can underneath the area I was distressing. Finally, I threw the jeans in the washer and then the dryer and voila! A new pair of shorts. An article in a past issue of Justine inspired me to use a cheese grater for distressing as shown above.

My Collection of Earrings

This is one of my all time favorite things: my earring stand. I got it last Christmas and I'm in love with it. It spins around so that I can view all my earrings at once. The only bad thing about it is that it doesn't hold all my earrings. I have quite a few pairs:)

I Love Cheetah Print

Hi! This is actually what I wore yesterday but blogger wasn't letting me access my account so I couldn't post. I wanted an outfit that was both classic and chic. My desire for a classically chic outfit was because I had a spanish presentation and thought that elections for ecology club were that day. It turns out that there weren't elections. Oh well, they'll happen next week. The pearl and diamond earrings and crisp blue button down added the classic elements to my outfit. To add a little uniqueness, I wore my blue cheetah print skirt and bright blue Calvin Klein sandals. Interested in iconic prom dresses? Check it out here.
